August 2010 - The Making of the Film for the ECHOES Event on November 5
Emerson and Northeastern student Sean Legnini gathered his friends, cinematographers Peter Keeling and Frank Mobilio from NY and LA, respectively, to capture the scenes in Uganda. Sean had traveled to Uganda several times and he really believed in and supported the work and the partnership with ECHOES. The three young men met while attending Emerson majoring in film and studying all of the aspects of the film industry.
They all worked non stop for six days mixing with the people they met at each venue, playing with the children and having fun discovering the beauty of the land and its people. It was amazing to watch them at work, dedicated to the project of catching just the right light, the best sound and asking the best questions when interviewing students, teachers, medical personnel, and patients as well as the leaders of each of the schools and the Double Cure Medical Centre. They worked extremely long days going well into the night in difficult conditions.
ECHOES greatly appreciates the generosity of Sean and his family for underwriting this trip so we could benefit from Peter and Frank's creative work to showcase the wonderful work our partners are building in Uganda. Their film will be premiered at the ECHOES event on November 5 at St. David's Golf Club. They all persevered, reaching for creativity and perfection. ECHOES is extremely grateful to all of them for their gift of this film.
